IN NACHT UND EIS
(Night Time In Ice)
(1912)
Filmed in the Summer of 1912, "In Nacht Und Eis" was 3 times longer than most silent films of the day. The movie was filmed at Continental Film Studios, in Berlin, with some ship-board filming done onboard the German liner Kaisern Auguste Victoria.
The movie did take some liberties with history (as most Titanic themed movies do) showing exploding boilers, flame shooting out of the funnels, and the passengers singing hymns en masse.
The film, long thought lost, was recently discovered, and portions can be seen in the great documentary, "Beyond Titanic".
