THE DELETED SCENES |
As with all movies, after a film has completed shooting, the Post-Production phase begins. Part of that is the editing process, where the editor and director sit and decide what will make the final cut. With "PROM NIGHT", little is known about what was filmed and deleted. During the films first run on network television, some people remember 2 scenes not in the origianl cut: 1) A scene of Kim and her girlfriends passing a note in class, and 2) a scene of Mr. Hammond chopping wood with the ax that will be used so skillfully at the prom. Below are 4 pictures I have from the movie that are not seen in the film. Whether they are deleted scenes, or just random publicity shots is unknown. |

(LEFT) Getting Robin ready for the ambulance. This isnt really a deleted scene, but this wasnt shown like this in the movie. |

(RIGHT) This would be from the missing classroom scene. In the script, it says that during Biology class (see the frogs?), Kim is reading a note from Jude about Seymore, when Mr Weller bags them for playing around. He makes Kim read the note out loud to the class: "What a hunk! Really cute...Tall....A great bod! Kinda the Latin lover type. And his name is Slick!" This scene is referenced in the rehearsal scene when Mr Weller refers to Kim as "The Literary Miss Hammond" In the picture, Kim and Vicki are in the background. I have no idea who the girl is looking at the camera-though she looks like she has spent WAY too much time with "Slick" in the back of his van. |

(RIGHT) Part of a missing scene. Mr Sykes is hiding in the same closet as Wendy. After she runs out, he cowers in the corner and watches the killing. In the movie, you can see him moving in this shot. |
