| A TV-movie rip-off of "THE TOWERING INFERNO." A small group of office workers are celebrating Christmas Eve in the board room on the 40th floor. The booze swilling and office scheming continues until they realize that they are trapped by a fire somewhere below them. The cast, headed up by a pre-"Charlie's Angel's" John Forsythe, go through all the usual brave and oh-so-sad and stupid cliches. The shots of the actual fire-fighting are impressive for a 1974 TV movie. The Director, Jerry Jameson went on to bigger catastrophes with "AIRPORT 77" and "RAISE THE TITANIC." The music was supplied by Vic Mizzy who, a few years earlier. scored the funky horror music for "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" First shown on NBC on September 17th, 1974. |
