THE GREAT LOS ANGELES EARTHQUAKE
(TVM 1990)
First aired November 11th, 1990, this was an all out attempt to show a modern day audience what a devastating quake in Los Angeles might look like. Joanna Kerns and Ed Begley Jr. are scientists who are convinced "The Big One" is on the horizon. The movie shows various groups and couples trying to survive and locate loved ones in the aftermath. Originally shown in 2 parts at 180 minutes, the movie was cut and re-shown, and cut a whole lot  more for video. Lost are whole storylines. The  special effects are really great, especially one scene a lot of people remember....The quake effects on the upper floors of the ABC Entertainment Center. The complete version was released on DVD in 2006
An unrealistic shot. In reality, the sign is to high up for that.
