The worlds first non-stop bus trip from NY to Denver, aboard the worlds first nuclear powered bus. A hilarious, and underrated, film starring Joseph Bologna, Stockard Channing & John Beck. The Bus was designed by Joel Schiller at a cost of $250,000 and weighed in at 75 tons. Each tire weighed 1,100 pounds. For the final scene, a 125 ton crane dangled the bus over the Big Tujunga Canyon, in the outskirts of L.A.. On the day of its first test run, it broke down. While up in the mountains, the engine started running hot, and was cooled down with Kool-Aid. For the first take of the bomb blast, the back of the bus was blown off, and had to be repaired at a cost of $10,000. Full of sly jokes and broad humor. This film does not disappoint! Released June 23rd, 1976. |
