A psychotic sniper takes up atop the L.A. Coliseum, and starts targeting the fans watching the game. L.A. Police Captain Charlton Heston trys to catch him in time. The movie drives it's tension from the fact that we are never told anything about the sniper, or what his motives are. The scenes of the thousands of stampeding extras is quite impressive.For its TV showing, the network was nervous about showing a movie centering on a crazy sniper, so a new subplot was made up and filmed, involving bankrobbers who use the sniper as cover while they rob a museum. A frank and brutal film. Charlton Heston later became the head of the NRA. |
